What is Forest Bathing?

Forest bathing, also known as shinrin-yoku, is a Japanese practice that originated in the 80s. It involves engaging all five senses to observe and connect with nature, bringing us into the present moment and promoting relaxation and wellbeing.

What are the benefits?

There is evidence to suggest that this practice can decrease blood pressure, improve immunity, calm the nervous system, and reduce stress, by decreasing the stress hormone, cortisol.

What forest bathers are saying:

"I so so so much loved the wonderful Forest walk. I got so much out of it. I am so grateful for having had this opportunity to grow as a person, a being, a soul collaborating with my spirit and the spirits around me. I am already looking forward to the next event I can join.”

FOREST BATHING MINI RETREAT

This expanded experience weaves together guided forest bathing, quiet reflection, and meaningful group engagement. In addition to time on the land, we gather in circle for sharing, reflection, and community support. Themes often help guide our time together, offering structure without pressure. If you’re seeking thoughtful presence, deeper insight, and a sense of shared community, this retreat is for you. We learn not only from the forest, but from one another’s perspectives.

GUIDED FOREST BATHING WALKS

A gentle introduction to the practice of forest bathing. Slow down, breathe deeper, and experience the forest with fresh attention. During this guided walk, we’ll explore simple invitations that help you engage all of your senses, move at a relaxed pace, and notice what the land offers.

SELF-LED FOREST TIME

For returning participants who already feel at home in the woods. Enjoy unstructured, self-guided time on the land. Wander the trails, settle into your favorite sit spot, or simply take in the forest’s sights, smells, and sounds at your own pace. We’ll be nearby and available for questions, gentle guidance, or support as needed.

"I left the weekend feeling lighter, like a physical weight had been lifted from my shoulders.  I felt accepted fully by those around me and internally. This experience is like no other I have had the pleasure to participate in. If you are looking for a safe space to heal, look no further."

Retreats

Deepen your connection.

Our retreats are an invitation to dive deeper—into yourself, into nature, and into meaningful connection with fellow participants who share an intention for deeper healing and presence. Through gentle forest-bathing practices, playful connection-building activities, and reflective moments, we cultivate grounding, joy, and renewed energy.

Each seasonal retreat balances immersive time in nature with opportunities to build authentic relationships. We offer retreats open to the wider community as well as private retreats designed exclusively for your own circle.

Children and Family Events

Join us for Fairy House Day, children’s day camps, or family forest time by appointment—fun, hands-on opportunities to learn and create in nature. We weave in gentle forest-bathing practices, using all our senses to explore and enjoy the natural world. Whether discovering a new kind of moss, building with rocks and sticks, or spotting a salamander friend, participants leave feeling connected to the forest in a fresh and memorable way.
